Surface Treatments

Extend the lifespan of your pavement.

Maintain Your Asphalt

With commercial asphalt surface treatment and seal coating, you can maintain a safer, more professional appearance. Asphalt requires seal coating to fill in cracks, preventing them from getting bigger and creating more damage to your commercial surface.

Repave LLC team can professionally seal coat and provide surface treatment, providing it with a brand-new look and a surface that is protected and easier to clean. This affordable service will help prevent small cracks from becoming major repair issues, saving you money in the long run.

Just as you put oil in your car and paint your house, you should do a little preventive maintenance on your asphalt paving project. Surface treatments serve as preventive maintenance and can be defined as those activities that correct minor surface deficiencies.

Treating your parking lot before there is visible distress, and filling micro-cracks will protect against the damaging effects of sun exposure and also waterproof the surface.

For maximum benefit, a seal coat treatment should be applied 12 months after initial application, and then periodically every 2 or 3 years.

rePAVE has the experience to help you determine the best solution based on your needs.

Seal Coat

Seal Coat

Seal coats are used to waterproof surfaces, seal minor cracks and rehabilitate surface friction. Pavement may be sealed with this type of treatment at any time of its life, but this method is especially beneficial for dry and graveled pavements.

Even if roads are in good condition, this is a great way to revitalize and reduce the need for maintenance down the road.

A seal coat lasts between 3-6 years, depending on levels of traffic and environmental stress.

Slurry Seal

Slurry Seal

Slurry seal is commonly used to reduce surface raveling, seal minor cracks and enhance the surface’s friction. You can improve the lifespan of your paved surfaces by 5 –7 years.

If the main problem is oxidation and hardening of surfaces, a slurry seal is a great option. If the pavement is covered in lots of cracks, this type of sealant is not going to take as well. All repairs should be conducted prior to applying the slurry seal.

Micro Surfacing

Micro-Surfacing

Micro-surfacing differs from polymer-modified slurry seal because of the curing process, which is chemically controlled as opposed to undergoing a thermal process.

Micro-surfacing provides excellent protection against sun exposure and takes less time to cure than other seals. Once applied the area may be reopened to traffic in as little as one hour.

This type of surface treatment is necessary about once every 7 years, depending upon traffic as well as the condition of the pavement when treatment is applied.

Benefits of Surface Treatments

Surface treatments are beneficial investments to increase the lifespan of your roadways. If performed routinely, they will save you money in the long run.

Asphalt takes a beating from the natural elements like sun, wind and rain. As the pavement dries, it loses essential elements and then breaks at the weakest points, usually along curb lines and areas of heavy traffic and weight.

Cracks cause potholes and other deterioration by allowing moisture into the sub-base. With the right treatment prolong pavement deterioration and saves you money if routinely performed.
